When it comes to creating works of art, I am interested in what happens between the start and the completition of a piece. Somewhere along that journey lies »the universal« — that which unites us as human beings. That is what my work revolves around.

The work is composed of modular concrete elements, whose arrangement and spatial relationship form an integral part of the installation. The photographs capture the artist in the process of constructing and positioning the individual elements within the exhibition space.

Wuppertal I 2011
First work using black watercolor paint on paper. The beginning of my exploration of black watercolor paint on paper. A paper cube without an internal structure. 638 g/m² of paper — painted approximately 400 times. A fundamental decision to use these two specific materials: English watercolor paper of this weight combined with neutral black watercolor paint by Igor Trestoi.

What you see is what you get.
The artwork is a reality that depends on the viewer’s perspective. Just like other realities. Much like reading, the narrative unfolds the image. My works focus in particular on methodologically verifiable interactions. The viewer reads the »text,« and a three-dimensional overall image emerges.
